Due to financial reasons, I have had to postpone my notebook search for a few months. After doing some analysis, I realised that I probably should not fork out more than $2,000 in cash right now. A lot of places quote a cheaper price for paying cash, and when you compare that price to the price they charge for a credit card purchase, you realise that it is better to pay by cash. So until I have enough cash, I am not buying a new notebook just yet. :(
Meanwhile my very skilled hubby has promised to back up all my files from this notebook and then rebuild it from scratch in the hope of improving its performance and getting rid of whatever bug it is that causes it to shut down whenever it pleases. If that fails, he has promised that we can get me a new notebook. Fingers crossed....
