I turned 30. The BIG 3-0. Thirty used to sound so far away, and so old. Yet here I am, having just turned 30, and feeling no older than I did at 24. Sure, I have more life experience, more work experience, but I had thought that by 30, you are supposed to feel like an adult. They say you are only as old or as young as you feel. Great. I will forever feel 24! People still tell me I look 24 or 25. I suppose I should be flattered (unless they are lying!). I have been blessed with good skin, like my mother.
The festivities started on Thursday with morning tea at work, and at night dinner with some close friends. We went to dinner at this lovely restaurant at a boathouse, overlooking the river. It was a really nice night weather-wise and company-wise. It was relaxing, just being in the company of my friends. Check out my meal. :)

There was a little bit of excitement (or perhaps it was not as exciting as it was nerve-wracking)when the police pulled me over for running an amber light. I doubted that they could issue me a penalty for that, because it was not a red light and I was not over the speed limit, so the cop gave me a lecture about slowing down at an amber light, took a breath test, checked my driver's licence and car registration, and wished me a happy birthday before leaving. Cheeky.
On the Saturday 14th January, my family and I took a drive to the Yarra Glen wine region for a lovely lunch at TarraWarra. The views were fabulous and the food was great.

Saturday night was spent at a dinner with my high school friends, and was thoroughly spoilt when I was presented with a gorgeous necklace. I was still receiving presents two weeks later. The main theme seemed to be jewellery - necklaces, matching necklace and earring set, earrings, bracelet. Perhaps turning 30 isn't so bad after all! It's like turning 21 all over again.
B, ever practical, had combined my Christmas and birthday present all in one, and bought me a personal digital assistant(PDA), otherwise known as a pocket PC. It's great, I love it, and it keeps me organised, especially this year, with so many things going on.
Despite my trepidation at turning 30 and growing older, I am looking forward to what God has in store for me this year. Should be most interesting.
